Call Me Irresponsible - Anika-France Forget & Nicholas Wanstall

Through a different style, I will bring you opera 〜 Anika-France ©️ 2021 Absurdly in love with the lady in red, Don José has been struck by Carmen’s seductive charm. After their separation, he cannot stand seeing her in the arms of the new bullfighter in town, Escamillo. A rumor spreads and Carmen is warned to fear for her life as her unstable former lover is wandering nearby. Yet, assertive as she is, she makes no case of it. As the bullfight takes place behind the scenes, Don José catches his Carmencita alone and confronts her. Unwilling to return his affection, Don José lunges his dagger and puts an end to his excruciating jealousy. Jimmy Van Heusen’s song Call Me Irresponsible creates an undeniable link with Bizet’s opera Carmen. This jazz hit could be interpreted by the antagonist of the opera, Don José, as he is irresponsibly in love with Carmen. I Got It Bad and That Ain't Good - Anika-France Forget & Nicholas Wanstall

Through a different style, I will bring you opera 〜 Anika-France ©️ 2021 Like many mistreated operatic heroines, Puccini’s Madama Butterfly is no exception. Madama Butterfly, also known as Cio-Cio San is destined to marry Benjamin Franklin Pinkerton, Lieutenant of the U.S. Navy. However, she is unaware of her husband's real intentions of settling with another wife back in his home country following their marriage ceremony. Three years have gone by and Butterfly and her son longingly await the return of her husband. In the end, she receives the visit of a young American woman, Pinkerton’s new wife. As she grasps the situation, Cio-Cio San gets a hold of her father’s dagger and puts an end to her unbearable misery. Duke Ellington & Paul Francis Webster’s "I Got It Bad and That Ain’t Good" tell the story from Butterfly’s melancholic point of view.
